Date: 6th Sep 2024 Author: David Bull

We warmly welcome our new Chief Scout – Dwayne Fields. Dwayne is only the eleventh person to be Chief since the Movement started one hundred and seventeen years ago.

Born in Jamaica, Dwayne came to the UK aged six and grew up in inner-city London. He first attended a Scout meeting in Palmer’s Green, north London, when he was seven, In 2010, he made his expedition to the North Pole, and has since presented programmes for Channel 5, Disney+ and National Geographic.

Dwayne has been an ambassador for UK Scouts and now steps into the role of Chief Scout in succession to Bear Grylls.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
