Sandstone Hike

Beaver Scouts hiked six miles along the Sandstone Trail on Saturday 29 June to raise over £2000 for Children on the Edge, a charity which supports the most disadvantaged and marginalised children throughout the world.

1st Sandstone were joined by other Beavers from by the 42nd Chester and 1st Tarvin, for their annual Beeston Hike. Over 80 young people, accompanied by 40 leaders and parents and some Cubs and Scouts, trekked over Rawhead, through Bulkeley and Peckforton woods and on to Beeston Castle.

The Scouts and Cubs had extra fun exploring the massive Queens Parlour cave at Rawhead something the Beavers can look forward to in the future when they move up to Cubs!

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
