District AGM 2014
Members of the District filled the room at Cheshire View, Christleton, on 22 May to take part in our Annual Meeting. Many thanks to everyone who made the evening a success. The meeting was honoured by the presence of Councillor Bob Rudd, Lord Mayor of Chester and Chairman of Cheshire West and Chester Council, in one of his first engagements since assuming the office. Val Thomason, Deputy County Commissioner for Cheshire was also a special guest. The meeting heard about the activities of the District in 2013 and approved the annual accounts – copies of these documents are available at the District Scout Centre. The meeting also heard about:
- The preparations for the World Scout Jamboree in Japan which will be attended by seven Explorers from Chester
- Alex Bain’s expeditions and activities leading to his achieving the Queen’s Scout Award
And awards for good service were presented, as were certificates celebrating growth in Groups in the District.
All in all, a celebration of a great year in Chester Scouting – congratulations everyone!
