Chester Scouts together at Tatton

Date: 18th Jul 2019 Author: David Bull

Nearly eight hundred Chester Scouts, and their adult volunteer leaders, camped at Tatton Park, as part of our District’s two yearly celebration of all things Scouting.

Cubs, Scouts, Explorers and Network members all enjoyed two nights under canvas at the Cheshire Scouts Activity Centre set within the park.  For some of the younger Scouts, this was their first time camping away from home.  Beavers (aged 6-8 years) were also able to join in the fun during the day on Saturday.

A huge range of exciting activities were laid on, spread over four different zones (Earth, Air, Fire and Water), with something for all ages and interests!

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
