Beeston Hike 2017

On 10 June, 1st Sandstone Beaver Scouts completed a 6 mile hike to raise money for The Alzheimer’s Society. By completing the hike, they raised £2376.25 in sponsorship in aid of the Society and presented a cheque to Tim McLachlan, Operations Director of The Alzheimer’s Society, at the Group’s Family Awards Evening on 17 July. In the last 8 years, the annual Hike has raised over £19,000 for various charities and next year theyhope to top £20,000.  During those eight years, not a single young person has dropped out along the route!

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
