Beeston Hike

Date: 22nd Jul 2014 Author: Scout Websites

1st Sandstone Beavers were joined by Beavers from Cestrian, 42ndChester and 1st Tarporley this year for the 5th annual sponsored Beeston Hike in aid of the charity Children on the Edge.

103 young people completed the 6 mile hike along the Sandstone Trail from Bickerton Hill to Beeston Castle. They raised £1,650 for the charity which supports marginalised and disadvantaged children around the world. This is enough, to pay the running costs of a nursery for displaced children from Burma for 18 months – well done all!

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
