Welcome to the website for Scouting in Chester and District!

The Scout Programme is firmly based on our Promise and Law. The day to day delivery of the Programme for 6 - 18 year olds is based around a number of programme zones, for example: outdoors, creative, fitness and global. Young people take part in activities in these zones in what we call the Balanced Programme. This provides the framework for the weekly meetings and all the other activities that Scouts of any age can take part in. They also receive awards and badges as part of the Programme. The Scout Network for 18 - 25 year olds has a slightly different approach which is modified from the one followed by the younger sections.

Girls and young women make up almost ten per cent of the Scout Movement in the UK, constituting one of our biggest development areas. We are pleased that we are the country's largest mixed organisation for young people. Having celebrated its Centenary in 2007, the Association now has over 400,000 members aged 6-25. Each day more than 100,000 people in the UK take part in Scouting activities. That's more than the national stadiums can hold!

We offer the opportunity to join Scouting throughout Chester and district and welcome young people from the age of six. Adults who want to be part of the adventure of providing Scouting for more young people in Chester are warmly welcome. We provide a series of free training experiences aimed at helping our adult team to make the most of their work with young people.
